MANSON AREA COMMUNITY CENTER
MACCenter (Manson Area Community Center) In January 2013 the MACCenter officially opened to the community in the former elementary building. The building provides the ideal space to offer a comprehensive fitness facility; cardio and strength training, along with health and fitness programs to serve the needs of our community.
Facility & Services: Cardiovascular and resistance training equipment, free-weight strength training equipment, full-sized gym, spacious locker rooms, personal training, group fitness programs, boot camps, tanning and keyless entry for improved security and expanded workout hours. MANSON FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER
The Manson Aquatic Center provides a modern pool and waterplay area for adults and children alike. The facility is open throughout the summer months and features a zero entry play area with fountains for toddlers, two slides, low and high diving boards, swim lanes, shade umbrellas, and a modern bathhouse and snack bar.

MANSON GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB
Manson’s nine-hole golf course has been in existence since 1979.
The mission of the Manson Golf and Country Club is to provide a friendly and fun experience for all that play, including members and visitors to Manson. Golfers can experience the facilities individually or during any of the scheduled fun nights: men’s stag; women’s stag; and Friday’s couples’ night; then relax at the “10th Hole” for refreshments after the game. PARKS
Manson is home to several public parks providing numerous outdoor recreation amenities for residents and visitors alike. The Manson Park Board is active in the planning and implementation of continuous improvements to the public spaces and equipment. Several local organizations provide volunteers for upkeep of the flowerbeds in various public spaces.
Three State Parks and two County parks, with playground, picnic and shelter house facilities, are located within 10 miles of Manson.
The MNW School District’s outdoor athletic facilities, located in the West portion of the Fairgrounds Park, have undergone significant improvements/enhancements over the past few years.
TWIN LAKES RECREATION AREA
The Twin Lakes Recreation Area, an area surrounding two natural glacial lakes 5 miles west of Manson, provides a recreation oasis in the midst of the rural landscape. Residents of Manson have access to numerous amenities within minutes of their homes.
North Twin Lake encompasses 570 acres, with a shoreline of nearly 7 miles. The lake is home to approximately 325 private residences. North Twin is also home to: a new 7-mile multi-use recreation trail; three state parks; two county parks; two boat ramps; a campground – providing RV and tent sites; cabin rentals; picnic and playground areas; a six-acre restored native prairie; restaurants; a marina; and, a Christian camp – offering miniature golf, rock climbing, a toboggan slide, and indoor basketball court, summer camps, lodging and much more. North Twin Lake has also become the regional destination for boating and water sports.
South Twin Lake is owned by the State of Iowa and covers an area of nearly 600 acres. Most of the shoreline of this shallow lake is undeveloped. The north end of the lake serves as a wildlife refuge and a bird sanctuary. The lakeshore is home to deer, pheasant and other wildlife. Public Hunting is permitted on the south half of the lake. A nine-hole lakeside golf course provides a serene environment for those seeking a relaxing outing. A new boat ramp and public park were developed on South Twin Lake in 2006
TRAILS
North Twin Lakes Recreation Trail
A newly developed 7-mile multi-use recreation trail is located 5 miles west of Manson, at the Twin Lakes Recreation Area. The 10-foot wide, concrete trail, encircles North Twin Lake – winding through the State and County parks, the Twin Lakes Christian Center, Gutz Prairie, and many lakeside scenic areas. The trail has been enhanced with split-rail fencing and crossings, trees and plantings, and rest areas with benches.
